Wind Farm Site Identification, Negotiation and Acquisition

A successful wind farm project begins with finding the right site. This is the science and art of finding where enough factors are favourable and then nurturing the opportunity to fruition. The factors for suitable location include of course wind speed, land area, grid access and the absence of environmental sensitivities or constraints.  To successfully bring a promising site to fruition, relationships and agreements with land owners must be created and maintained.

Beginning with regional overviews and mapping, we identify specific opportunities at a feasibility level. This means that prior to contacting specific land owners we have already done our homework and have a good understanding of the site advantages and disadvantages to inform the subsequent negotiation with the site owner.  We undergo title searches and mapping of project boundaries, turbine micro-siting and optimisation as well as face to face discussions with landowners and associated legal agreements.

Wind farm projects commonly change hands from initial prospector to final operator, sometimes with several stages in between. For companies wishing to acquire projects which have already achieved major milestones, we can identify and facilitate wind farm project sales for acquisition. We evaluate each opportunity on its merits and provide unbiased assessment of each project to purchasers.

We approach the process with a keen eye for best overall solution, and can provide you with a tailored solution for your needs.
