Federal Climate Change Authority swimming against the climate sceptic tide to review ETS options

A deal struck by Clive Palmer with the Federal Government has resulted in the Federal Climate Change Authority being tasked “to review whether Australia should have an Emissions Trading Scheme in future and what conditions should trigger the introduction of such a scheme.” The terms of reference are in a surprising letter from Greg Hunt published on the CCA website.

This review of ETS options for Australia keeps alive the discussion on carbon pricing and is therefore a welcome development.
