What was it about?

The global imperative to reduce dependence on fossil fuels challenges 

us all Continued use of gas as a fuel remains a tough nut to crack in terms of emissions reduction. The forum aims to assist in councils moving away from gas and towards a carbon neutral future.

Local governments in Australia are well placed to lead the transition away from fossil fuels with many councils already declaring a climate emergency. The one-day forum will explore complex topics about a grid without gas outlining a viable pathway for Australia to electrify energy sources. A panel of Australian and international experts will give insight into the challenges we face continuing with gas, and lessons from Berekely, California; a municipality who have already begun the transition journey.
