Sustainable Energy outcomes for the 2014 election

Enhar received a letter from Ryan Smith MP, Minister for the Environment in Victoria stating that the Liberal Party if re-elected would continue the Community Sustainability Infrastructure Fund, with additional funds available for further grants after the Victorian Election on 29 November.

The CSIF has funded a variety of sustainability projects already, with $2.8M committed for materials efficiency, energy efficiency and renewable energy at Victorian communities, Councils and businesses. Enhar was involved in several successful grant applications in October 2014  which secured funding for refrigeration upgrades, air conditioning, lighting upgrades and 280kW of solar photovoltaic installations.

The CSIF scheme closed for applications at the start of caretaker mode at the end of October. Our clients are keen to know whether the grant will continue after the Election and therefore the confirmation from the Liberal party is a key development.

Now the question is – will Labour match this commitment? We have asked Labour’s Shadow Environment Minister Lisa Neville MP this question and will share her response here on our news blog.
