The Hon Lily D’Ambrosio, Victorian Government Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change today awarded $825,000 funding to Arvio to roll out a new Victorian-made energy storage kit.
Enhar Director Demian Natakhan attended the launch and said “I am really pleased to see the project reach this milestone. Enhar provided consulting assistance to Arvio and the consortium to create their winning grant application to the New Energy Jobs Fund, which is a highly competitive $20M fund to support job creation in clean energy in Victoria. We have assisted many clients over the years to access State and Federal funding and this is a major example of how our clients successfully receive government grant funding.”
A crowd gathered at the Arvio show-home in Ringwood North featuring Arvio’s clever energy storage and automated building technology to witness the announcement. The home is a three phase off grid/on grid display home which is near completion. It is a highly efficient ‘Passivhaus’ which hosts solar PV plus large energy storage capacity – enough to ensure the whole home plus 2 electric vehicles can be powered all year round without needing the grid!
The grant will support the first 200 installations of the “Independence Day” product – a system which makes an entire house independent from the grid. Independence Day is a Victorian-made system containing software by Arvio, charge controller by Imark and Inverters from Selectronic, all local Melbourne firms. Diamond Energy join the consortium as the retail partner who will ensure customers of the Independence Day system earn credit on their power bills through providing grid support services as well as feed in tariffs for exported solar – a reason to stay connected to the grid !
