Enhar is carbon neutral with Treecoin and has offset more than its historic emissions - making it beyond carbon neutral.
Walking the Talk
Enhar was created to support the development of renewable energy projects to help clients decarbonise our energy system for a safe climate.
Enhar purchases it's office electricity from an electricity retailer which has demonstrated 100% renewable energy over a 10 year period and has implemented measures to reduce staff transport emissions from the company.
Enhar also monitors what energy is used and then offsets it through transparent and verifiable methods. In 2022, 2023 and 2024, Enhar conducted energy audits and offset the total emission through Climate Active.
We also offset 320 tonnes of historic emissions from 2007 to 2021 using Treecoin.
Enhar subsequenty found that we could increase our contribution to carbon removals more efficiently using Treecoin, so transitioned fully from Climate Active to Treecoin for our carbon offset purposes for 2025 onwards.
Taking an Extra Step
Enhar has been around since 2007 and operated for a number of years before participating in carbon offsetting programs.
This left 14 years of historic operation that hadn't been offset, so Enhar retroactively applied the Climate Active Methodology to estimate historical carbon emissions since the company was founded.
Enhar then purchased and retired 320 treecoin (that's 120 tonnes more than we needed to as we estimated 200 tonnes) so that the company became beyond carbon neutral and has achieved it's goal of being a net positive impact to the environment.
